    New Thai Revenue Department Directive: On September 15, 2023, the Thai Revenue Department (TRD) issued a new rule called Departmental Instruction No. Paw 161/2566 (2023).

    It’s about paying income taxes according to Section 41, Paragraph 2 of the Thai Revenue Code (TRC).

    What’s Changing: Before, Thai people only paid taxes on money earned abroad if they brought it back to Thailand in the same year.

    But starting January 1, 2024, Thai people will have to pay taxes in Thailand no matter when they bring the money back. This rule only affects Thai people who pay taxes.
